Naadam Festival & Culture — 5 Days
Overview
Experience Mongolia's national Naadam festival in Ulaanbaatar alongside the city's monasteries, museums and living nomadic traditions.
Held every July, Naadam is Mongolia's most important national celebration and a window into a culture shaped by the steppe. Over five days you will be in Ulaanbaatar for the festival itself (11–13 July), watching the "three manly games" of wrestling, archery and horse racing unfold against a backdrop of music, costume and centuries of tradition.
Around the festival days you will get to know the Mongolian capital at a relaxed pace: the working Buddhist monastery of Gandan, the city's leading museums, and the lively squares and markets where Naadam spirit spills into the streets. An optional day trip toward Kharkhorin and the Orkhon valley adds a layer of historical depth to the journey.
This is an information and inquiry-based itinerary designed for travellers who want to combine a once-a-year cultural highlight with comfortable city-based travel and genuine local insight.
