Tour to Mongolia

Frequently Asked Questions | Travel to Mongolia

Planning a trip to Mongolia raises plenty of practical questions. Here are honest, detailed answers to the ones we hear most often from our travellers.

For most travellers the sweet spot is mid-June to mid-September, when the steppe is green, days are long and the weather is mild. July brings the Naadam festival (11–13 July), the cultural highlight of the year, while August offers slightly quieter roads and golden grasslands. May and late September are beautiful and less crowded but cooler. Winter trips are possible for those drawn to the Golden Eagle Festival region, frozen Khövsgöl or Tsagaan Sar, though temperatures can be very low.
